Brisbane Open House

Learning trip.
学習の旅。


There was an event called 'Brisbane Open House' which is open building for public.
This event ongoing two days and some building are only open for one day, so have to plan first and visit.
ブリスベンオープンハウスと言う年に1度のイベントに行って来た。
このイベントは週末2日のみいくつかの建物が一般公開されている。一部の建物は1日しか開いていないので、事前に調べて予定を立てていかなくてはいけない。


Day 1...
初日…   

This was at fire station where is one of biggest and buiest station in Brisbane.
It was good to see frie engine, know what firefighters are doing during the day and what job positions are...
Above the photo is back of the fire engine. Many buttons and bars... Many water is in this fire engine.
Bottom one is side of fire engine. Lots of hoses, air tank for firefighters and big cutters.
ここの消防署はブリスベンの中でも1番か2番に忙しい署。
消防車の隠れざる所が見れたり、普段消防士はどんな仕事をしているのか、そして仕事の役職等について学ぶ事が出来た。
消防車の後ろには沢山のボタンやスイッチがある。そして、サイドには何種類かのホース、隊員用のエアボンベ、そして大きい物や車などを切る時に使う電動のこぎりなどがある。

St. John's Cathedral.
It was lovely place. Live pipe organ play, curving at chior stage, stained glass, etc.. I can not tell how beautiful and had great time at this cathedral.
聖ジョン大聖堂。
とても良い所だった。パイプオルガンの生演奏、手彫りの聖歌台、ステンドグラス、等々…言葉には言い表せないほど綺麗な大聖堂で、とてもいい時間が過ごせた。


Day 2...
2日目。 
 

Parliament hosue was interesting place to visit.
There were so many old books in the office or library, walked in Legislative Assembly Chamber, saw lovely stained glass of Queen Victoria, etc...
議事堂見学はとても面白かった。
議員の部屋や図書館にはとても沢山の古そうな本があった。普段は入る事の出来ない議会部屋の中を歩いたり、クイーンビクトリアのステンドグラスを見たりした。
ステンドグラスはとても素敵だった。

Redcliffe

Day trip.
日帰り旅行。

The other day, I was looking at travel website without thinking.
I found one interesting shop on there. That was my stroy was start...
ちょっと前に、旅行のホームページを何の気なしに見ていた。
ホームページで気になるお店を見つけた。それが今回の日帰り旅行の始まり…

There are so many things to do at Redcliffe.
Shipwreck, music star, beaches, shops etc...
レッドクリフには色々な物がある。
船の残骸、歌手、海、お店等等…

I had never seen real shipwreck before. It was extraorsinary to see.
ガユンダー船の残骸…
今までに本物を見た事がなかったけど、何かを感じさせるものだった。
  

Bee Gees!!
Well, I do not know much about this band, but I enjoyed to see them.
That was good to know new thing. Popular band is from near Brisbane.
ビージーズ。
と言ったものの、あまりビージーズは知らない…でも楽しめた。
新しい事を発見するのって良いね。ブリスベンの近くで有名な歌手の誕生…
 



















I went to Redcliffe museum.
There was special event was on and introduced about Japanese culture.
It was nice to see Japanese things. While I am here, it is hardly to see Japanese things.
This kite was really huge. It was on the ceiling. Probably the size will be one normal room or bigger.
レッドクリフ博物館に行った。
特別展示があって、日本のお祭りについて展示してあった。
オーストラリアにいると、なかなか日本の物が見られないから、久し振りに見て良かった。
上の凧の写真は、実物はかなり大きい。10畳位あるんじゃないかな。
 

This is my main story of this trip.
UK shop and cafe.
I ordered Shepherd's pie. I imagined different thing, because it is called pie. It was bit surprised, but very yummy homemade meal.
これがこの旅のメイン。
イギリスの家庭料理カフェ兼お店。
シェパーズパイを頼んだ。パイと名のつく物だから、パイ生地に包まれた物だと想像していたから、テーブルに持って来られてびっくり。味はね、家庭料理って感じで、塩っぱくなくて美味しかったよ。

Another reason I went here was this...
Having meal with teddy bear. Avobe photo is just part of collection at the shop. Of course you can buy them if you want, but I did not. It was quite expensive...
Hope find nice one someday...
もう1つの理由はねこれだったの… 
テディーベアに囲まれての食事。上の写真はごく一部のコレクション。勿論購入も可能。でも、思っていたよりも高くて買えなかった…
いつかお気に入りの一品が見つかると良いなぁ。

Brisbane Festival

Fun day!!　

楽しい日!!

I was waiting for quite while for this day.

The day in the morning was rain. I was not sure it will go or not. In the afternoon the weather was getting better.

When I arrived South Bank, the weather was perfect day of the fireworks. I could take good spot as well.

この日を長い事待っていた。

朝は雨が降ったりやんだりして、イベントが行われるかちょっと心配だった。お昼を過ぎた頃から少ずつ天気も回復した。

サウスバンクに着いた時には、晴れて花火にはもってこいの天気になった。早めに家を出たから良い場所に座る事も出来たし。

 

Helicopter show.
There were three helicopters flying around the river and show us interesting show.
Sometime the helicopters were going down to near the surface of the river. I thought it was starting rain, but actually it was from helicopter. The air from the wings blew up water.
That was cool.
ヘリコプターのショー。
3機のヘリコプターが川沿いを飛び回って色々な技術を披露していた。
時々川の水面近くまで降りて、留まっていた。それを見ている時に、雨が降ってきたと思ったら、ヘリコプターのプロペラの風が川の水を巻きあげて河川敷まで水が飛んできていた。
びっくりしたけど、凄い経験が出来た。

 

Fireworks were starting. Fireworks is different from Japanese one. While fireworks were on, there were music as well.
It came out many places. On the river, building and bridge.
My spot was good one, so I could see the bridge fireworks.
花火も始まった。
色々な所から打ち上がる花火。日本の花火とは一味違う。こっちの花火は音楽と共に花火が上がる。
花火は色々な所から上がっていた。川の上、ビルの屋上そして橋の上。
私のいた所は、結構良い所だったから、橋の上の花火も見れた。


 
 












What a beautiful fireworks.
I really enjoyed this year one. If I were here next year, I go same spot. 
とっても綺麗な花火。
今年は良い花火観賞が出来た。来年ももしブリスベンにいたら、同じ場所に行こうと思う。
















I walked to busway station.
On the way to there, there were some good sopt for taking photos.
This was one of good shot on that night.
バスターミナルまで歩いていく事に。
途中にはいくつかの写真を撮るスポットがある。
そこで撮ったのが上の写真。今夜の写真の中でも時に入りの1ショット。

Birthday Party

Friday of 13th...
13日の金曜日。

My friends's birthday was Friday of 13th.
Theme was scary thing... It was like Halloween. People were dressed up like zombi, witches, etc.
It was so scary.
I do not want to put outfit, because of privacy, so I put meals instead.
友達の誕生日は13日。そして、今回は金曜日ともあって、テーマは怖い物…
みんなは、ゾンビや魔女など色々な格好をしていた。ひと足早いハロウィンみたいだった。

スカンジナビアのフェスティバル

I was looking at website where I usually looking for the event in the morning.
It looked interesting. There were people from Denmark, Sweden, Noway, Finland and Iceland at festival to introducing own countries. Also there was a Viking.
いつもの様に朝、インターネットでイベントを調べていると、面白そうなフェスティバルを見つけた。
スカンジナビアフェスティバル。フェスティバルには、デンマーク、スウェーデン、ノルウェー、フィンランドとアイスランドの人達が自分達の国について紹介をしていた。後バイキングまでいた。

At the music stage, there were singing, dancing and playing instruments.
音楽のステージでは歌や踊り、演奏が行われていた。 

I really liked this group.
I was listening beginning from the end...
Lovely music. It was very relaxing.
お気に入りのグループ。
初めから最後まで聞きいってしまった。
とっても良い演奏で、癒やされた… 

I was bit hungry, so I tried this Denmark pancake.
It was yummy.
Actually it may possible to cook when I go back to Japan, because we use similar pan for making Takoyaki.
少しおなかもすいたので、おやつの時間…デンマークのパンケーキを食べた。
おいしかった。
日本に帰ったら、同じような物作れるかも。たこ焼きの鉄板が、このパンケーキの鉄板と似ていたし。

Festival day.

It was a lovely weather. Sunshine and bit hot day in winter.
There were various kind of things at the festival.
Animal, market, rides and music ...
少し暑かったけど、雲ひとつない天気で冬とは思えない日だった。
フェスティバルでは、色々な事が行われていた。
ふれあい動物園、マーケット、移動遊園地、音楽のステージ等々。

It was open for public, so I could see the inside...

At the stage, there were many different types of music.
Brass band from Australian navy, local band and popular singers in Australia...
音楽のステージでは色々なコンサートが行われていた。
オーストラリアの海上自衛隊によるブラスバンド、地元の人のバンド、そしてオーストラリアでは有名らしい歌手によるコンサート。

I put some photos from famous Australian singers, so that someone you may know...
Actually I have no idea who were they.
They said to young people, 'We are like a Justin Bieber when your parents were your age'.
Singers were Franky J Holden and Wilbur Wilde.
When they were singing there were many people over 40's...
I do not know them, but talk was fun.
オーストラリアの有名な歌手の写真を載せてみた。もしかして知っている人いるかな?
私は全く知らないけどね…
彼らは、観客の中に若い人達を見つけると、「僕達は、君達のお母さんやお父さん達が、君達の年代の頃には 、ジャスティン・ビーバーのような存在だったんだよ。」と語っていた。
彼らの名前は、フランキー・ジェー・ホールデンとウィルバー・ウィルド。
彼らが歌い始めた頃には、周りには40代以上の人達ばかりになっていた。 
全く知らない彼らだったけど、トークは結構楽しかった。

EKKA

EKKA time.
エカの時期。


I was waiting for a while.
EKKA has many things to watch, experience and learn.
Farm animals, food, flowers, art, craft and so on...
毎年1度約1週間のイベントがある。ブリスベンにいる時は、毎年行くのを楽しみにしている。
エカは色々と見たり、体験したり、勉強になる事ばかり。
農場の動物、食べ物、お花、アート、クラフト等々。

Learning about part of the beef in English...
Always wonder about the part of the meat when I go to grocery shopping. It was good to learn.
牛肉の部位のお勉強。
いつも買い物に行くとどこの部分のお肉なのか疑問に思っていた。これで、どこの部分のお肉を買っているのか分かるね。

This year's view point was big ship.
There were many bits and pieces.
It was fun to see and find something interesting.

From the evening time, there were many event at the arena.
夕方からはアリーナで色々な催しが行われた。

Huge car...
Sound of this car was also really noisy. However it was good to see.
There were so many actions with this car.
Jump and standing by back of wheels.
大きな車。
勿論車のエンジン音ときたらとてつもなく大きい。でも、良い経験が出来た。
この車は、色々な事をしたの。
普通車を土台にしての大ジャンプ。　そして、スタンディングアクション。（後輪のみでの走行。）


There were so many things apart from this.
Music (Ricki Lee concert), Iron man action, farmers action show (riding horse withother animals show).
Finale was Fireworks with music, laser and fountain show.
I can not say how beautiful was the finale. I have never seen Western fireworks show like that before.
それ以外にも色々なショーが行われた。
リッキー・リーのコンサート、アイアンマンショー、牧場の動物ショー（馬に乗った人が、農場の動物達を操り大きなトラックの上に牛を乗せて見たり、芝生スキーをしたり、等々…）。
そして、EKKAのフィナーレを飾る、花火。 
上手く言葉では言えない位綺麗だった。
オーストラリアで花火は何度も見ているけど、一番綺麗だったかも。花火と共に、音楽とレーザー光線、そして噴水のショー。
