Japan trip part five

Hello Nagoya, I'm home.

こんにちは名古屋、帰ってきたよ。

I had trip with my two Australian friends. Few more days to spend time with before they go back to Australia.

There are so many places to visit in Nagoya.

We chose to go Arimatsu and Nagoya castle.

日本国内旅行も終盤。残すところ数日。

名古屋にはいっぱい見る所がある。

その中でも、有松・鳴海と名古屋城に今回は行ってきた。 

In Arimatsu・Narumi, there is a place called Arimatsu・Narumi Shibori Kaikan where is showing Arimatsu Shibori (tie dye).

There were few elderly ladies showing us how to make Shibori.

This is one of big artwork.

有松・鳴海には有松・鳴海絞り会館があり、有松絞の紹介をしている。

何人かのおばあちゃんが、絞りをどうやって作るか見せてくれた。

この写真はその中でも、有松絞を使った大きな作品。

Another day we went to Nagoya castle.
Luckily the weather turned into sunny. Rainy day before and in the afternoon when we went there.
違う日に、名古屋城観光へ。
前日と当日の午後には雨が降っていたけど、名古屋城に行っている間は天気も良く、青空も見る事が出来た。

Honmarugoten
This building is still progress rebuilding.
Actual building was burned down by war... (also castle) 
本丸御殿
本丸御殿は、まだ再建中。
元々の建物は、戦争で焼かれてしまった...(天守閣も)

Big castle with golden orcas on the top.
名古屋城
大きなお城の上に、金色に輝くシャチが2匹並ぶ。














Top of the castle, view towards to my home.
Beautiful weather, so we could see mountains in faraway.
I liked the clouds too. Autumn clouds...

いい天気で、遠くの方にも山が見えた。
雲もいいね。秋の空って感じで…















It was lovely trip with my Australian friends.
I hope they loved Japan.
Thank you for visiting Japan, my country.
I really appreciated to my auntie and my parents...
日本で、オーストラリアの友達2人と旅行が出来て良かった。
2人共日本を気に入ってくれてたらいいなぁ。
私の国、日本に来てくれてありがとう。
親戚のおばさんや両親にも感謝...

Kyoto trip
京都旅行



There are old and new in same place in Kyoto.Therefore there are so many places to visit... We decided to stay one day longer than we planned.
京都には新しい物・古い物が1ヵ所に沢山ある。だから、沢山見に行く所がある。という事で、1日予定より長く泊まる事に。

Before I introduce about historical place, I want to show new one...
歴史的な建物探訪の前に、新しい物紹介。

Kyoto Gosho (Kyoto Imperial Palace)
We went here in the evening, so there were not many people.
When I walked toward to the gate of the Kyoto Gosho, I felt like time travel to the oldie days...

夕方に行ったこともあり、人もまばら。
御所の入り口まで歩くと、気分はなんだか昔にタイムスリップした感じ。

Walking to Kenninji (temple)
Pretty street...
建仁寺へ行く途中。
可愛らしい小道へ...

Looking at little Daikokuten (God of great darkness) through the lovely window...
可愛らしい小窓から、大黒様が見えるよ。
 



















Kenninji is oldest Zen temple in Japan.
The garden is beautiful and sitting on the Engawa (wooden veranda which just under the roof/edge of floor) feel very calm. Meditation will be a good spot.
建仁寺は、日本最古の禅宗本山寺院。
お寺のお庭はとても美しく、縁側に座ってお庭を眺めているとなごむ...瞑想するには最適。















Each room had different design of Syoji (sliding door).
This room had dragons. Strong movement on the Syoji. It seems like flying in the Syoji.
すべての部屋の障子の絵が違う。
この部屋は龍の絵。力強さを感じる。障子の中で本当に飛んでいるよう。 















In the Hatto, there are few statue. One of them are Buddha. Buddhist monks teach Buppo (Buddhism) to people.
When came in this Hatto, first thing you see some statues. Then looked up the ceiling, you will find this (bottom photo).
This ceiling picture is quite new one. Some years ago, Kenninji had 800 years anniversary of building. For this anniversary, one of the Japanese artist painted this dragons It took about 2 years and size is about 108jyou (About 178㎡).
法堂の中には本尊釈迦如来像やいくつかの仏像があり、普段はお坊さんが仏法をしているらしい。
初めに入ると、そのお釈迦様のあるのがすぐに目に入るが、数歩進み天井を見上げるとこのような天井画が目に入る。
実はこの天井画、まだ新しいらしく、数年前に建立800年を記念して、日本画の画伯にお願いをしてこの龍の絵を描いたそう。この絵を描くのに約2年を費やしたそうで、大きさは108畳(約178㎡)ある。

Gion area.
We saw Maiko and I took photo, but I do not put the photos for some reasons.
In stead, I put this photo of river. This river is called 'Shirakawa' where located in Important preservative district for traditional building area.

祇園地区。
舞子さんを見て写真も撮ったけれども、写真を掲載は今回は控えておこうと思う。
その代わりに、川の写真を...この川は白川と呼ばれ、重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に指定されている所を流れている。 





















Arashiyama area.
When we were  walking around the street of Arashiyama, I found cute Ojizousama (commonly used as guardian of children)

嵐山の町を歩いていると可愛らしいお地蔵さまを発見。 















Bamboo forest in Arashiyama.
It was cloudy, sometime shower, so the forest was quite dark. Also there were many people. It was quite difficult to take photos without people. Luckily, there was a hill, so I took some photos from the top of the hill which I could take without people.
Because of the weather or not, it was little bit cold when we were walking through the forest.
嵐山の竹の小路。
天気は曇っていて、時より小雨が降っていて、小路はちょっと薄暗かった。沢山の人が歩いていて、写真に人が写らないように撮るは大変だった。運が良く、ちょっと丘になっている所があって、丘の上から小道を撮ると、上手く思っているような写真が撮れた。

Fushimi Inari
We stayed near Fushimi Inari. We have heard of when to visit from taxi driver. He said visit very early in the morning or around sunset, so we decided to go around the sunset.
As the taxi driver was said, around sunset time, there were some people around the shrine, but not like in the morning (so many people were walking toward to Fushimi Inari).
When we start to walk toward to the Torii (famous red gates), it was less people. Walking through the gate, more less and less.
伏見稲荷
宿泊場所は、伏見稲荷の近く。 タクシーの運転手さんから、稲荷へは朝早く若しくは夕暮れ時に行った方が良いと教えてもらい、夕方に行く事に。
教えてもらった通り、夕方は稲荷の社付近には人はまばら。朝は、稲荷に行く人で行列が...
有名な千本鳥居の方へ歩いて行き、鳥居をくぐるともっと人は減り、静かに歩くことが出来た。

Kitsune (Fox)
There are statue of foxes in Inari.
This statue was shining by the little light...

この狐さんは、小さな灯りの下で光っていた...

Day time is good that we can see the all the colour, but night time is also lovely.

日中は、色が見れるから綺麗だけど、夜はまた違った風情があって素敵。

There were few little light under the torii.

鳥居の途中には、小さな灯りがぽつぽつと。
とても可愛らしい… 





















There were some bright light outside of the Torii, because it is very dark at Inari.
I found the lights and Torii made artwork on the ground...
How interesting.
鳥居の外側では、街路灯が付いていた。稲荷自体は灯りがないと、真っ暗だと思う。
歩いていると、その街路灯と鳥居が作りだすアートを発見。
面白いね。

Travel around Himeji and Akashi area
姫路と明石周辺旅行

Thank you my auntie for staying with us...
It was very warm days when we were at my auntie's place. Normally it should not be close to 30C degree around middle of October, but this time it was around 28C degree or bit higher.
私たちを、泊めてくれた親戚のおばちゃんに感謝。
おばちゃんの家に行った頃が暑さのピークだったかも。いつもの10月中旬だと、暑くも寒くもなく過ごしやすいはずなのだが、今回行った頃は、28℃若しくはそれ以上あったと思う。


Before we went to my auntie's place, we went to Himeji castle where is on the way to my auntie's place...
おばちゃんの家に行く前に、通り道にある姫路城へ寄り道...

This photo is used to use as storing weapons.
Himeji castle is huge castle, therefore the weapon storage is really big...
この写真に映っている物は、武器を収納するのに使われていた。
姫路城は、大きいお城なだけに、収納される武器も相当だったのだろうなぁ...

Himeji castle is also called 'Shirasagijo' or 'Hakurojo'. There are some reasons, but acording to the website, the castle is really white and looks like Egret, especially when egret is open their wings.
Himeji castle is World Cultural Heritage as well as National Treasure.
姫路城を広場から眺める。お城はとても大きくて、真っ白に光っていた...
姫路城は別名白鷺城（しらさぎ・はくろじょう）と言われている。名の由来はいくつかあるらしいが、お城のホームページによると、白鷺が羽を広げたように見えるからという事。















Another day, we went to Awaji-shima (Awaji island).
違う日に淡路島に遊びに行った。

This bridge is called Akashi Kaikyo Ohashi which is world longest suspension bridge.
We caught a bus and across this bridge to get Awaji-shima.
淡路島を眺める。
この橋は、明石海峡大橋と言い、世界で一番長いつり橋。
淡路島へはバスに乗り、この橋を渡って行った。

We went to Awaji Yumebutai (Flower park).
There was a grasshopper. What are you doing??
淡路夢舞台(植物園)。
バッタが花の中に...何をしているのかな??

Jyugatsu Zakura (October Cherry blossom).
It was almost end of the season. Luckily there were some flower left. 
十月桜。
もうすぐ終わりの時期の様だったけど、運が良く少しだけ咲いていた。 

Little lake with pretty cosmos.
It was during the watering time, flowers were shining with water drops and the sun shine.
小さな湖にかわいいコスモスが咲いていたよ。
ちょうど水やりの時間だった事もあって、お花に水滴がついて、それが日の光にあったって綺麗に光っていた。

There were over 80 different of kind of Daria growing.

Travel around Hiroshima
広島周辺旅行

It was rainy in Tokyo and toward to Hiroshima, so we were not sure the weather in Hiroshima. Luckily it was cloudy when we arrived Hiroshima.
It took about 5 hours from Tokyo. 
東京や広島までの町では雨が降っていて、広島の天気にも少し不安を抱きながら広島に向かった。広島は、曇っていたけど、雨は降っていなかった。
広島までは、 約5時間位掛かった。


Memorial park.
We walked around the park in the morning. We bought little bit of breakfast and had them at park. It was little bit early, so park was quiet.
Photo is memorial monument look through the Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome).
広島記念公園。
朝少し早く起きて、朝ごはんを買って公園のベンチでゆっくり朝ごはん。朝も早かった事もあり、人もまばら。
写真は、原爆のモニュメントから望む、原爆ドーム。





















Miyajima trip via boat which can bring cars...
The view from the boat was pretty. We saw oyster farms, view of Hiroshima and Miyajima.
宮島までは、車も運べる船で…
船からの景色はとても良かった。途中では牡蠣の養殖をする所が遠くに見えたり、広島・宮島の眺めが素敵だった。


We found a cute boat. May be scenery/guide boat??
可愛らしい船を見つけたよ。観光用の船かな??















There were many deers in Miyajima.
This one is still little. Like a Bambi. So cute.

宮島には沢山鹿がいた。
この鹿は、まだ小さいね。なんだかバンビ見たいで可愛かった。

Sori-bashi (arched bridge)/Chokushi-bashi (Imperial messengers' bridge) at Itsukushima shrine.
This bridge is National Important Cultural Property.
厳島神社の反橋、別名を勅使橋。
この橋は国重要文化財に指定されている。

Gojyu-no-tou (Five storied pagoda)
This pagoda is also National Important Cultural Property.
五重の塔
この塔も、国重要文化財に指定されている。

Trip in Tokyo area
東京エリアの旅

After over six years lived in Australia, unfortunately I had to come back to Japan.
This time, my friend was with me on the way to come back to Japan. And we caught up another friend at airport. We travelling around Japan.
6年以上住んでいたオーストラリアから、残念ながら日本に帰国する事に...
今回は、オーストラリアのお友達と一緒に帰国。もう1人のオーストラリアのお友達と日本の空港で落ち合い、そして日本国内の旅行へ。

The weather in Tokyo was not really well. When we arrived in Japan, it was little bit rain. Luckily the day of sightseeing, it was sunny. (Rain in the evening.)
東京ではあまり天気はよくなかった。日本についた時も小雨が降っていた。観光する日は、運が良く晴れていた。(夕方に雨になる事も...)

Little adventure

Day trip with my friend.
友達とお出掛け。

It was gorgeous weather for day out.
Today we went to Scarborough to Redcliffe.
It took about 1 hour 45 minutes from city to Scarborough by train and bus.
At first we went popular little seafood market and takeaway shop in Scarborough. We bought prawns and fisherman's basket to share. We had lunch at Scarborough boat harbour.
After the lunch, our little adventure was started.
お出掛けするのにはとてもいい日だった。
今日はスカーボローからレッドクリフに向けての旅。
ブリスベン市街地からスカーボローまでは、バスと電車で約1時間45分。
まず最初は、有名な小さな魚売り場とお持ち帰りの食べ物の店が一緒になった所に行って来た。茹でて冷やしてあるえびとフィッシャーマンバスケット(白身魚、ホタテ、えび、イカリングのフライとフライドポテトのセット)と買った。マーケットの外はスカーボローの漁港で、ベンチとテーブルがあって、そこで分け合いながらお昼ごはんを食べた。
お昼ごはん食べてから、レッドクリフに向けての旅が始まった。

We saw a big tree on the way.
I liked the contract of the sky. So lovely.
途中で大きな木を見つけた。
木と空のコントラストが素敵… 

My friend found a bird.
Rainbow lorikeet. Very colourful, isn't it?
友達が鳥を見つけた。
レインボー・ロリキート(ゴシキセイガイインコ)。とてもカラフルでしょ?

 
After walked along the footpath, there were two ways. Keep continue to footpath which above the cliff or shore.
We were not sure we can walk along on the shore, but we just went to see we can walk or not. Luckily it was low tide, so we decided walk along the shore and it was good choice.
It was little adventure actually, because some broken cliffs and rocks on the way.
海岸沿いの歩道をしばらく歩くと分かれ道。崖の上を行く歩道と海岸を歩く道。
どっちに行くか迷いつつ、海岸をとりあえず見に行く事に。歩けるかなかるけないかな…
運が良く、この日は潮が引いていた。だからこのまま海岸を歩く事に。
小さなアドベンチャーの始まり。と言うのも、海岸には崖が崩れた物や岩がゴロゴロしていたから。

このサインが海岸にはいくつか立っていた。
満潮になると、海水は崖の所まで来るんだと思う。 


After we walked along the shore, finally we arrived Redcliffe jetty.
It was long walk. Probably 5km with thongs.
海岸沿いを歩いて、ようやくレッドクリフの桟橋に到着。
長い距離を歩いた。多分5km位かな。しかも草履をはいてでの…
 

End of the trip, just before we left Redcliffe.
Interesting monument. Rings are moving around.
旅の終わり。ちょうどレッドクリフを離れる時。

面白い物を見つけた。輪が動いていてなんか不思議だった。


It was lovely day.
We had nice food, saw lots of things, friend was swimming and I was meditating at the beach, took many photos.
とてもいい日になった。
美味しい物を食べて、色々見たり、友達は泳いでいる間私は海岸でメディテーションしたり、写真沢山撮ったりと…

Sunshine Coast day trip.

Interact with Nature.
自然と触れ合う。


It was a lovely day for going out.
My friend drove and showed me around Sunshine Coast are.
It was a great experience which I could not put all the photos unfortunately.
お出掛けには最高の日。
友達の運転でサンシャインコーストの旅。
とても楽しく良い経験が出来たけど、全部の写真が載せられなくて残念。

There was a little water fall is called Gardner's Falls...Many people were swimming and jump into the water. Only few photos do not have people, so it was not big water fall. Tiny one little bit above the water fall.

We had lunch, then move to North a bit.
お昼ご飯を食べてちょっと北の方へ…

I just knew there is a big pineapple. 'Yes, it was big.'.
It was a nice to see Big Pineapple.
 大きなパイナップルがるのは知っていたけど…「やっぱり、大きいね。」
ビックパイナップルが見れて良かった。



It was a great trip in one day.
I really appreciated to my friend who drove all day to show me around.
Big thanks. 'Thank you so much. I had really great time.'
とても楽しい旅だった。
車を1日運転してくれ友達に感謝…
「ありがとう。とても楽しい日が過ごせたよ。」
